Cairns welcomes first cruise ship for the season

The first cruise ship to enter the Port of Cairns for 2019 was welcomed at the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal on Wednesday January 9.

Black Watch docked at 0800hrs arriving from Brisbane, and carrying 894 passengers and crew on board. She departed at 1700hrs on the same day bound for Darwin.

She is the first of five cruise ships to visit Cairns in January, with the popular Pacific Aria returning on January 14; Seven Seas Mariner arriving on January 25; Europa 2 arriving on January 27; and newcomer La Laperouse arriving on January 28 for her maiden visit. 

Cruise ship visits for the 2019 schedule list 48 visits throughout the year, 19 of which will be overnight stays and four of which are maiden arrivals.
