The Ports North Community Investment Fund 2026 Now Open

Each year, Ports North supports local communities through its Community Investment Fund, providing funding for initiatives that deliver positive social, environmental, cultural or economic outcomes across our port communities.

Applications for the 2026 Ports North Community Investment Fund are now open and will close on 30 September 2026.

Individuals, community groups and organisations operating within the Ports North region are encouraged to apply.

If successful, we may promote your story with our employees, partners, clients and communities. When you submit an application, you consent to Ports North referencing non-personal information to promote the funded activities.
Ports North will issue funding at our discretion and based on the criteria outlined in the Community Investment Fund guidelines without protest by applicants.
Current employees, contractors of shareholders of Ports North and related entities are ineligible to receive funds as part of this initiative.

Sponsorships

Ports North are a key economic driver and a major employer in the Far North Region. 

Sponsorships are undertaken to establish closer community ties through its sponsorship of education, community festivals and events, environmental programs and local sporting associations.

Ports North recognises that as a major corporation it has a responsibility to make a positive contribution to the Far North Region and this policy aligns with the overall corporate vision to 'be a successful, sustainable Port operator and a valued contributor to regional economic growth'.

The Cairns Shipping Development Project aims to develop port infrastructure in order to secure a greater share of the international cruise ship market, enhance Naval capacity and improve port efficiencies.
