Thursday Island wharf maintenance

Maintenance works are scheduled to commence at the Thursday Island Engineers Wharf from Tuesday 9 April to Friday 21 June 2024. The works involve pile encasements and concrete repairs to the underside of the wharf deck.
There should be minimal disruption to access during this time, and the work areas will be clearly signed for public safety.
Most of this work will generate some industrial noise, and we have carefully considered equipment placement and the scheduling of tasks to minimise noise pollution.
In mid-June 2024, paint repairs to the current Horn Island passenger deck will be completed over a week. This will affect access for private dinghies.
These are planned maintenance works to ensure the facilities are safe and reliable to keep local communities and businesses connected.
